Learn & Embody the Japanese Healing Art of Reiki
Usui Reiki Ryoho Shoden
(Reiki Level I)
Shoden is the traditional name for the first-degree Reiki training. This course focuses on healing for yourself and others, developing energetic sensitivity, and learning the history and theory of Reiki.

Reiki is a milestone on your healing journey. This course can mark your entry point into learning how to heal yourself naturally and also deepen and empower yourself if you have already been on that journey. Reiki provides both a method and a practice for self-healing and healing for others.
This training offers a traditional Japanese approach to learning and practicing Reiki. It is taught in the lineage of Usui Reiki Ryoho. It’s great for beginners who want to how to practice Reiki and it is also suitable for those who have taken a Western Reiki course before and want to understand Reiki as it was taught by Usui Sensei prior to Western influence.

Continue your journey of learning the healing gift of Reiki with Okuden (second-degree Reiki) training. This course expands the application of Reiki to include three healing symbols which are used extensively for both treatment of self and others.

This course also includes additional discussion, methodology and practice for giving Reiki to others, mental-emotional healing, and distance healing. Students are guided through a deeper understanding of Reiki practice with even more of the original Japanese techniques and will learn the history and context of the original symbols of the system of Reiki.
Completing Reiki II is considered to be the practitioner level of training, giving you the ability to offer professional Reiki treatments.

This training is not a typical Western Reiki course. It offers a traditional Japanese approach to learning and practicing Reiki and its primarily focused on Reiki as it was taught by Usui Sensei prior to Western influence.
Inside of this Reiki training, you will learn so much about the healing art of Reiki: an up-to-date understanding of the history of Reiki and it’s evolution into the West. We will be given a depth of understanding of the Japanese spiritual and cultural traditions from which Reiki was born.
If you have taken a Reiki I and II training from a Western Reiki lineage, you will be given material to review the content of Shoden (Reiki I) and Okuden (Reiki II) so that you can enter the Shinpiden (Reiki III) with a firm foundation to grow in your knowledge and experience of Reiki.

In my 15 years as a Reiki practitioner, I have had the wonderful privilege to study many diverse types of Reiki, including Tibetan/Usui Reiki, Holy Fire Reiki, Jikiden Reiki and Usui Reiki Ryoho. I have provided thousands of Reiki treatments & guided over 75 Reiki courses.
I work with Reiki enthusiasts, students & practitioners to help you gain confidence in your ability to use Reiki in your own healing process & to transmit it to others. I have a gift to make spiritual woo stuff practical and engaging even for someone who is longing to connect to their spirit but gets trapped in their logical mind.
I have recently discovered my home within Reiki, the Usui Reiki Ryoho, and I am honored to teach Reiki from this lineage. I am also an E-500hr yoga instructor, co-founder & co-producer of Reiki Women Podcasts, a Blissologist, mom, mystic & modern day healer.

I also try to offer one Reiki training retreat per year that includes accommodation, food, a blissful retreat setting and a Reiki certification. Reiki Courses Online
Embark on your Reiki certification from the ease and comfort of your home. I offer two or three Reiki courses online per year. Look to my events page for my current Reiki course offerings. You may also wish to join the waitlist to receive notification about upcoming trainings.
1:1 Online or In-Person
If the timing doesn’t work for you or if you are eager to study Reiki as soon as possible, you can schedule time to study Reiki with me 1:1 over zoom or in-person (when applicable) in three hour teaching blocks. You can complete Reiki I and II in three meetings/nine hours total. Reiki III can be completed in four meetings/12 hours total.

FAQs
Do your Reiki courses include a certification?
Yes, all of my courses include a certification offered through the Reiki Healing Association. Requirements might be different depending on your country and state but generally it is great to have a certificate with your Reiki course when purchasing liability insurance if you want to offer Reiki professionally.
Do you offer Reiki Master Courses?
Yes, please refer to the Shinpiden: Reiki Level III course listed above. Due to my work to decolonize my Reiki courses, I do not use the word “master” to describe my title as a Reiki practitioner and teacher, nor do I include the word “master” in my course description.
Can Reiki be learned online?
Reiki teachers might have different opinions on this topic. Historically, teaching Reiki online has been discouraged and online courses were not recognized by some Reiki organizations as valid. Due to COVID, many restrictions on teaching Reiki online have been dropped.
Prior to COVID I taught exclusively in-person. I decided to open up my courses online because I offer a unique perspective in my courses, Reiki prior to Western influence. Some of my Reiki students have learned Reiki elsewhere and they come to my courses to understand the Japanese spiritual and cultural connections to Reiki.
Reiki has always been understood to travel beyond time and space. I believe Reiki courses are just as effective online as in-person. My Reiki courses are taught solely in real time, no part of the content is pre-recorded and you are given plenty of opportunity to ask questions as we move through the material.
I also arrange for opportunities for you to practice providing a Reiki session to someone else with my direct guidance and instruction.
We live in a unique time, where we must juxtapose the conveniences of modern life with traditions of the past. It is my mission to bring forward the original teachings of Reiki with limited distortion from Western ideology.
